Why is this play significant?
Alan Ayckbourn's first play to be told entirely from the perspective of its lead character and his final play to be premiered at the theatre before he took a two year sabbatical to the National Theatre as a Company Director between 1986 and 1988. The play would go on to an award-winning West End run and later also found success in New York.Notes
