Why is this play significant?

The acclaimed actor Bernard Hepton starred in the play which was originally intended to transfer into the West End with the Scarborough company, but which never came to fruition.

Notes

Wolf At The Door was an adaptation of Henry Becque's play Les Corbeaux (The Crows). It was translated by David Walker, who sent it to Alan Ayckbourn believing it would appeal to the playwright. Alan agreed to direct it as well as adapting the play for performance.
