○ Clifford Odetts was a significant American playwright during the 1930s, who was apparently idolised by the playwright Arthur Miller. However, following his death in 1963 - and a disappointing career as a screenwriter in Hollywood - he faded into obscurity. This production marked a very rare UK production of an Odetts play at the time.
