This page contains a list of new plays commissioned by and premiered at theatre in the round in Scarborough between its opening on 14 July 1955 to Alan Ayckbourn stepping down as Artistic Director of the company on 31 March 2009.It includes every professional play premiered by the company including details of its author and first performance.
It has been compiled by Alan Ayckbourn’s Archivist, Simon Murgatroyd M.A., who was also the Archivist for the SJT between 1993 and 2022. As such, it is not an official list. However, this list comprises more than two decades of research into the company and the author believes it is the most authoritative and accurate list of productions available.
