Notes
○ The Glass Menagerie is notable for being the first production in which Alan Ayckbourn - later the Artistic Director of the company - was involved. He joined Studio Theatre Ltd at the age of 18 as an Acting Stage Manager (a stage manager with limited acting roles). This marked his first production as stage manager.
○ This was the first production of an existing full-length play at Theatre in the Round at the Library Theatre as opposed to a world premiere; the exception being the theatre’s production of Tardieu’s Office Of Information in the 1956 season, but that was a one-act play and a British premiere.
○ This is believed to be the first professional in-the-round production of The Glass Menagerie in the UK.
○ The Glass Menagerie was performed without an interval.
