Notes
Lucky Peter's Travels was one of the plays presented during Studio Theatre Ltd's inaugural winter season at Theatre in the Round at the Library Theatre, Scarborough. As the Concert Room was not available, it was performed in the large lecture room on the first floor of the library in an elongated 'round' layout.
There was no performance on Christmas Day but Lucky Peter's Travels had 'special' matinees on 26, 27, 28, 30 December and 1 January with its evening performances finishing on 30 December.
It was the first of several productions of August Strindberg’s plays to be presented by the company over the decades to come.
Lucky Peter’s Travels was the first Christmas play presented Theatre in the Round at the Library Theatre intended for a family audience.
This is believed to be the first professional in-the-round production of Lucky Peter's Travels in the UK.
Stephen Joseph launched the inaugural winter season in 1957, which would run until 1961 and would then not be reinstated until 1974.
