Why is this play significant?
Alan Ayckbourn's acclaimed and award-winning play about the media. It's notable for having a swimming pool on stage from which characters both enter and leave the stage swimming and where someone must convincingly drown in view of the audience. It marked the last of Alan Ayckbourn's ventures in having significant quantities of water in his plays! The company is notable for including Adam Godley and Peter Forbes, who both worked regularly with the company during this period before finding international success on stage and screen.
