Why is this play significant?

An acclaimed trilogy of plays - GamePlan, FlatSpin and RolePlay - which transferred in its entity into the West End (a first for the Scarborough company). The three plays are unconnected aside from a general theme but share the same set and the same company - playing different roles in each play.

Notes

Damsels In Distress is a trilogy of plays consisting of GamePlan, FlatSpin & RolePlay. The plays do not share the same characters or plot but feature similar thematic elements and were written to be performed on the same set with the same company of actors. They were designed to re-introduce repertory theatre into the Stephen Joseph Theatre.
Damsels In Distress was conceived and initially advertised as a eulogy of plays. However, during the writing and rehearsal process, Alan was so inspired by the rep company that he announced he had written a third play, RolePlay, to create a trilogy.
