Why is this play significant?

One of the debut plays of the First Foot initiative launched by the Stephen Joseph Theatre to highlight some of the company's first commission by new writers.

Notes

○ Something Blue was presented as part of the 2002 First Foot season. First Foot was an initiative which ran between 2002 and 2003 featuring first commissions by the Stephen Joseph Theatre for each of the writers involved. The productions were staged in the end-stage McCarthy auditorium for a short run within a limited budget during a period when the theatre traditionally went dark.
