Why is this play significant?

The professional playwriting debut of Ben Brown with an acclaimed play which starred Christopher Godwin, a stalwart of the company during the 1970s and here returning to the Scarborough company for the first time since 1971.

Notes

All Things Considered marked the debut of the playwright Ben Brown at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and one of the early successes of the dedicated Literary Department which had begun with the company’s move to its new home; obviously the theatre was built on a new writing tradition since it opened but only since 1996 had it had a dedicated Literary Department and Literary Manager in Connal Orton.
It marked the first return to the company for Christopher Godwin since 1977; between 1971 and 1977, Chris was one of the most prolific actors to have performed with the Scarborough company and starred in a number of Alan Ayckbourn world premieres.
