Why is this play significant?

Although theatre in the round in Scarborough has staged a number of plays by the popular Northern playwright John Godber previously. This marked the first time, he would premiere a play in Scarborough. It was presented in the 10X10 season which featured 10 actors in 10 world or UK premieres.

○ Perfect Pitch not only marked the first time a John Godber play had premiered at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, but also marked the first time the playwright had directed a production for the company.
○ Perfect Pitch was part of the 10x10 season presented at the Stephen Joseph Theatre during the summer of 1998. It featured 10 plays receiving either their world or British premieres in repertory performed by a company of 10 actors.
