Actual Programme / Alterations
The season actually ended on 9 September having been altered mid-way through the season.
The reason for this is probably due to the fact that the company were performing Turn Right at the Crossroads in London on 11 September and needed the extra time for both the get out of the Library Theatre and to set up in London.

1955 Production Notes
○ The inaugural season of Theatre in the Round at the Library Theatre set up the repertoire system which would be followed for the next five decades with the main house programme changing on Thursday nights. Stephen Joseph reasoned that by changing programmes on a Thursday, holiday-makers visiting the town for a week would get the chance to see two different productions.
○ The season is exceptional as not only were all four plays new works but also three of the four were written by women; Jurneman Winch who wrote Turn Right at the Crossroads was a pseudonym for Joan Winch.
○ Stephen Joseph is credited as Manager in the programmes for the season rather than Director of Productions or Artistic Director.
○ Performances were Mondays to Saturdays at 8pm with a 2.30pm Wednesday matinee. Productions had no intervals and programmes were provided for free.
○ Midway through the season, Wallis's Holiday Camp asked if the company would provide alternative entertainment for a weekly matinee performance in case of rain, due to a circus act cancelling. Stephen agreed and the company performed for four weeks - probably on a Tuesday - from 15 August 1955. The company returned the following year.
